BANGKOK — Tigerair Flight PR 2177 from Thailand’s Chiang Mai to Singapore diverted its flight to Suvarnabhumi International Airport in the capital Bangkok yesterday (Jan 12) after a Singaporean man died on board, according to Thai media.
The 58-year-old passenger, named by Thai news site Khaosod as Mr Seet Ngow Chai, had been travelling with his Thai wife and three family members at the time.
Further investigations are being carried out by Thai police. His body has been taken to the Police General Hospital for an autopsy, Thai PBS stated. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
CLARIFICATION: An earlier version of this story said the Tigerair flight made an emergency landing. Tigerair has clarified that the incident was a flight diversion, and not an emergency landing.
